English version - Sturcturalism in Amersfoort

The sixties and seventies were a time of renewal and emancipation. And a time in which new forms of living and working were explored and realized. FASadE selected 25 special projects in Amersfoort, Leusden and Hoevelaken, which are considered to belong to the architectural movement 'structuralism'. Neighborhoods and buildings that are built according to structuralist principles often consist of several smaller units that together form a structure. Small and large spaces are organized in strict, geometric patterns and the human scale is the main focus. With beautiful photos by architectural photographer Dirk Verwoerd this document illustrates the broad spectrum that structuralism encompasses: from business office buildings to romantic palaces.Christa Jesse from Studio Jesse took care of the graphic design.

''A great initiative to highlight this relatively underexposed period in the heritage world''

''Structuralism is a somewhat unknown movement/approach in architecture and urban planning. It turns out that I live right across from a building from Structuralism. That makes me curious. And both the route map and the magazine look promising. It's good that 'you' encourage expeditions in the city''
